Rob Zombie will sit in the director’s chair for The Lords of Salem, which starts shooting this spring.
Based on a screenplay by Zombie, Set in modern-day Salem, Massachusetts, the thriller will see everyday people haunted by a 300-year-old coven of witches. The plot obviously alludes to the infamous Salem witch trials, which took place in the late 1600s.
The film will be the a co-production by made by Haunted Films and Alliance Films, marking their third film together. The first, Insidious, will be released this April. The second, The Bay, is currently filming.
Zombie has also written and directed House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, and the two Halloween remakes.
