'Hereafter' DVD sales to aid Japanese disaster relief

EW.com by Jeff Labrecque

While Hereafter has been pulled from theaters in Japan due to its devastating tsunami scenes, Warner Bros. has announced plans to pledge funds to the disaster relief effort when the Matt Damon film is released on DVD in this country on March 15. According to the Los Angeles Times, an unspecified percentage of video sales, estimated to yield about $1 million, will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society. In a statement, director Clint Eastwood said, “The devastation and loss Japan is facing is almost incomprehensible. I’m glad to join Warner Bros. in this effort to help the Japanese people.”
