How tacky.
The Amazing Spider-Man villain Rhys Ifans was arrested and cited for a misdemeanor battery just moments before the Spider-Man panel at Comic-Con on Friday night.

Ifans, who smelled of alcohol, became irate when a member os (sic) his entourage was unable to enter the hall because she didn't have the proper credentials. Instead of handling the situation like an adult, Ifans shoved a female security guard.

He was allowed to participate in the panel, showing up late, but the guard did subsequently make a citizen's arrest on the Welsh actor.
Lt. Andra Brown said:
"He was aggressive and belligerent. He was… berating everyone from the security staff to the United States of America.
He was cited and released, which is a non-custodial misdemeanor arrest."
He then left the venue immediately after receiving the citation.

He could be required to pay a fine and may even have to return to San Diego to contest the case before a judge. Brown says, "But, according to him, the U.S. sucks and he doesn't want to come back."

A spokesman for Sony says that he "deeply regrets the incident."

That's not the right way to treat your American fans! Getting arrested at an event where thousands of fans gather to see you is pretty ridiculous. Hopefully, you change your mind about America, Rhys. Maaaaybe, we'll welcome you back.
