I am back and ready to annoy;)

HELLO ALL!!!

I was having a really hard time mentally with all of the stories coming out of Africa and India.  I was having a hard time dealing with work.  In other words, I am human and had to take a break.

I went to a smaller place in my day job and cut back a bit on the fun work.  I re-evaluated and I have a mission.

I will share our news, be it Pop or Headline news.  I will post more hopeful stories.  Lastly, I will be posting more of your stories.

Thank you for being patient with my much needed break and let the blogs recommence!!!

"Let me start by saying that I'm not a Wiccan. I'm just into dealing with the universe in a different way. I call them spells, but they’re not spells in the way people think. I love smoking out negative energy. 

One spell I think I did well was when I recently moved into my new house. I came in before the furniture arrived and opened all the windows. I got some sage and crystals, and I clapped in every corner and said, 'this house is going to be full of positive energy.' I swear everyone comments on the energy of the house! And I'm not paying them to say it.

I have a lot of different witchy things that I’ve collected over the years. I don’t have a cauldron, but I have a chalice. That's a good receptacle for mixing things. I have a dagger—but I don't need it that much.

One time I brought a bottle of potion to work and started spraying everyone, saying, 'We need to get some positive, warm love-flow on set so that we can do our job.' I was really going for it. some people didn't like it.

I try not to practice black magic. That's dangerous. I mean, sometimes I catch myself almost cursing someone to the sky, but I stop myself because I know that I'm too powerful. I don't want it to get out of hand." @evilhag

Brannon Braga's Salem Witch Trials Drama Ordered to Series at WGN America

Some three months after installing Matt Cherniss as president of WGN America, the Tribune-owned network has ordered its first original scripted series.

'American Horror Story' at PaleyFest: Season 3 Title Revealed

The first project is a drama titled Salem, from Brannon Braga (24, Star Trek: TNG, Terra Nova) and Adam Simon (The Haunting in Connecticut), which will go straight to series with 13 episodes. The hourlong entry hails from Fox 21, the cable studio responsible for such cable dramas as Homeland andSons of Anarchy, and was initially developed at FX. Production is set to begin in the fall, with a plan to premiere on WGN in 2014. The news comes as Cherniss looks to bolster both his executive team as well as his programming slate at the Tribune-owned network.

Salem is set in the volatile world of 17th century Massachusetts, and explores what really fueled the town's infamous witch trials. The series will look to uncover the dark, supernatural truth hiding behind the veil of this ignominious period in American history. The witches featured are real, but they are not who or what they seem. What’s more, the drama, which centers on an epic romance wrapped around this explosive revelation, delivers a bold new vision of Salem -- and an even bolder new vision of witches.

“Brannon and Adam have an amazing vision for the world and characters that comprise Salem, Massachusetts, during the witch trials, and we believe that a great adventure full of supernatural romance and action awaits the viewer," said Cherniss, who joined the company after a stint on the feature side at Warner Bros. Before that, he spent several years in top programming posts at both Fox and cable sibling FX. The new position reunites him with his former boss, Tribune CEO Peter Liguori.

“As we expand our cable television business through Fox 21, we are always on the lookout for new opportunities, and we couldn't be prouder to be the first studio to produce an original scripted series for WGA America,” noted Twentieth Century Fox Television chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman. Fox 21 president Bert Salke added: “Salem is a passion project of ours at Fox 21, and Matt and Peter’s enthusiasm for it was instantaneous and incredibly gratifying. We are excited to be delivering WGN America its inaugural scripted series and look forward to continuing to develop with the network in the years ahead.”

Salem, which was formerly titled Malice, was created and written by WME-repped Braga and Simon, who will serve as executive producers alongside Prospect Park’s Josh Barryand Jeff Kwatinetz.

Once Upon A Time Gets The Graphic Novel Treatment! First Look HERE!

Because none of us can get enough of Once Upon A Time…

Marvel is teasing us with a first look at the show’s adapted graphic novel Once Upon A Time: Shadow Of The Queen!

As a collaborative effort between artists Nimit Malavia, Vasilis Lolos,Mike Del Mundo, Mike Henderson, and Michael Kaluta as well as co-writers Daniel Thomsen and Corinna Bechko, the novel centers around the Evil Queen Regina usual scheming!

Marvel revealed:

"The Evil Queen has, quite literally, captured the Huntsman's heart - and now he's her slave. This is the never-before-told tale behind their twisted relationship - and what happens when a good man is forced to do bad. When Regina cooks up yet another devious plan to capture Snow White - this time by allying with a pack of power-hungry werewolves - the Huntsman comes face-to-face with his past - and an independent spirit in Red Riding Hood that just may match his own.”

The graphic novel is set to be released on September 4th, just a few weeks before the ABC show and its new spinoff pick up for a new season!

'The Great Gatsby' - C+ (Voice Over D-)

Let me first state, I love Baz Luhrmann.  I love his visuals, I love the music choices, I love his casting.  I love his amazing wife Catherine Martin, for whom nothing that is his could exist.  A perfect yin to his yang.

Let me also state, useless voice over, as a plot device, needs to be stopped.  It is the item MOST used to move a bad script along.  Writers, your audience isn't stupid.  They can figure out that a character is driving a car or walking down the street WITHOUT being told it's happening.

Now you see my dilemma when watching 'The Great Gatsby.'  It is visually the perfect foible to the loud, crass crap that litters the Summer viewing season.  However, it is been soiled with one of the WORST voice overs ever!  Leonardo Dicaprio is sublime.  However, DiCaprio seems almost superfluous in some scenes, as the miscast Tobey Maguire’s voice-over narrates Gatsby's actions faster than he can complete them.  By the end of the film, I was rolling my eyes and hoping for another one of the fantastic songs to drown out my urge to climb through the screen and throttle Mr. Maguire.

The supporting cast was perfect, Isla Fisher particularly.  The heavily CGI film was beautiful, but I can not forgive that they gave the tone of the film over to a butcher, yes, Mr. Maguire, I mean you.

Pros - 
- Soundtrack, with major credit to Jay-Z, as Luhrmann films always do, delivers.
- Visual stunning
- The dynamic between Leonardo Dicaprio and Joel Edgerton ('Zero Dark Thirty'/Star Wars I and II) almost saved the film for me.

Cons -
- Tobey Maguire - PLEASE SHUT UP!!!!!  You are a poor representation of almost the same character played by Ewan McGregor in 'Moulin Rouge.'  Very, very poor casting.  
- Not every metaphor needs to be visually displayed.  Again, the audience is not stupid.
- Carey Mulligan, one of my favourite Doctor Who heroines, has reduced to simpering and whining and by the end, I could care less.  Watch her in 'An Education' or the amazing 'Drive,' but don't expect a lot here.  She is mostly wasted.
