Is there trouble ahead for Amy and Rory? The Doctor gets close to his companion!

Daily Mail

The last time Doctor Who fans saw Amy Pond, she was happily sailing off on honeymoon with husband Rory Williams.

But as actress Karen Gillan films scenes for the upcoming new series in Cardiff yesterday, it looks like there may be trouble in paradise for the newlyweds.

The miserable-looking redhead is comforted by the Doctor (Matt Smith) after an argument with Rory (Arthur Darvill).

The intimate scenes come just moments after Amy is seen arguing with Rory.
Wearing her trademark mini skirts, Amy is seen sulking as she perches on the bonnet of a red car.

She is soon joined by the Time Lord, who obviously says all the right things given Amy's affectionate response.
The scenes were being filmed for the upcoming sixth series of the new Doctor Who, which is set to be begin broadcasting in the spring.

The series will be split into two parts, with the remaining six episodes being screened in the autumn.
Chief writer Steven Moffat requested the split in the series so he could write a big cliffhanger.

He said: 'There will be a huge cliffhanger that we wouldn't normally do at the end of a series of Doctor Who because it would be too long before it came back.

'It's an enormous, game-changing cliffhanger for the Doctor, Amy and Rory. It will change everything for them.'
Smith added: 'The Doctor and Amy are going to be faced with some really harrowing and seismic choices about their relationship and who they are, and why they are important together.'

Meanwhile, comedian James Corden recently revealed he would be reprising his role as landlord Craig Owens from the last series.

Corden is set to begin filming on Thursday.
