It's a monster Munster mash!!
Portia de Rossi — of the late and great Arrested Development — just inked a deal with NBC to star as Lily Munster in their remake of the classic ‘60s horror/comedy.
We bet she and Ellen are having SUPER celebratory cuddles in their $18 mil Beverly Hills mansion right now, LOLz!!
Munsters 2.0 will actually be titled Mockingbird Lane.
Show runner Bryan Fuller and director Bryan Singer promise this will be a darker and more macabre version than your parents watched on TV!!
Portia’s matriarchal Munster was originally meant to be played byMariana Klaveno of True Blood infamy — but she couldn’t get released from the contract on her Marc Cherry Hallmark pilot!
Yup! The same Mark Cherry entangled in that lengthy legal drama withNicollette Sheridan over her Desperate Housewives departure!!
Portia’s co-stars on Mockingbird Lane include Jerry O’Connell and Eddie Izzard, who will play Herman and Grandpa Munster respectively.
We LOVE the cast so far and we’re really curious to see where NBC ultimately goes with this idea!!
