Oprah's OWN Network Starts Out Strong!
Perez Hilton Filed under: TV News > Oprah Winfrey > Business BlitzEarlier today, we mentioned that some fans were pissed because they couldn't get Oprah's new OWN network on their basic cable services.
Looks like there's still plenty of people who ARE getting the network, because OWN's New Years debut was pretty impressive!
During OWN's 12-12:30 p.m. debut, the network scored a 0.7 household rating, which is a 555% gain from the same time slot only four weeks ago, when the channel used to be Discovery Health.
Oprah's ratings were even better with the show Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes, which landed OWN a 1.0 rating in the 8-9 p.m. time slot and a 0.9 rating at 9 p.m. This marks a 500% jump from the same time slot four short weeks ago.
OWN became the third most-watched cable network during the night of Jan 1 in the 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. time slots.
Not a bad way to get things going, Oprah!
Guess we'll see if she can keep it up.
Hate to say it, but I secretly watch it while my hubby is in the other room:-)
